The 2024 Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) Scholarship and Mentoring Program is now open for applications. This program was established with the aim of supporting SAHOF members as mentors and allowing them to leave a lasting impact beyond their sporting accomplishments alone.

The mentors in this program are valued for their ability to serve as role models, not only for aspiring athletes but also for the wider community. People from all walks of life can learn from them about mindset, perseverance, and commitment, and apply these values to achieve their own goals in both sports and life.

Regarded as one of the most prestigious programs in Australia, if not the world, the SAHOF Scholarship & Mentoring Program connects the nation’s up-and-coming athletic talent with renowned Australian sports legends. It offers Tier 1 Scholarships, providing unparalleled one-on-one mentoring opportunities with SAHOF members, which is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Now in its 18th year, the program is made possible through the support of the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Institute of Sport. It operates on a three-tiered system, offering a total of 32 scholarships to Australian athletes aged between 15 and 21.

The Tier 1 Scholarship includes exclusive benefits for six successful recipients. Each recipient will have the privilege of receiving personal mentoring from a Sport Australia Hall of Fame member, along with a $10,000 grant to cover sporting expenses. Additionally, they will receive merchandise and recovery equipment, and have the opportunity to attend a special event where they can meet fellow scholarship holders and SAHOF members.

Ten successful recipients will be awarded the Tier 2 Scholarship, which includes a $5,000 grant for sporting expenses, as well as merchandise and recovery equipment.

The Tier 3 Scholarship is open to sixteen successful applicants, who will each receive a $2,500 grant for sporting expenses, along with merchandise and recovery equipment.

It is important to note that all unsuccessful Tier 1 and Tier 2 applicants will automatically be considered for Tier 3 Scholarships. Each scholarship will be valid from the selection date until December 31, 2024. Interested individuals must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before submitting their applications.
