Swimming Australia has recently unveiled a new strategic partnership with Mana Global and the Pho3nix Foundation, aimed at further developing the Junior Excellence program, which supports the journey of young swimmers towards senior-level competition, and encourages kids to be more active.
The Pho3nix Junior Excellence Program, Swimming Australia’s development initiative for children aged 9-13, has already had over 214,000 participants since 2007. This year, an estimated 17,000 participants will take part in the program, which is conducted through local swimming clubs and clinics across Australia.
The Pho3nix Foundation’s support is set to bring about significant benefits for all program participants, as they progress through various stages, refining their skills and abilities to compete at senior level.
Swimming Australia CEO, Eugénie Buckley, is confident that the partnership between the two organizations will take the JX program to new heights across the country.
“Our Junior Excellence program has produced some of our best Dolphins over the years and we are excited to partner with the Pho3nix Foundation to assist with the continued growth. The Foundation’s commitment to keeping kids active aligns well with our drive to keep kids swimming,” said Buckley.
Chris McCormack, Pho3nix Foundation board member and Mana Global Executive Chairman, expressed his pride in the partnership and being recognized as the official Sport for Social Purpose organization.
“We are proud to partner with Swimming Australia and be recognized as the official Sport for Social Purpose organisation. Swimming is part of the cultural DNA of Australia. Many of our nation’s Olympic champions have come through this system and it instills a love of swimming for life for all participants.” said McCormack.
