Table Tennis Australia has officially announced the appointment of Nicole Adamson as its new CEO. Currently serving as the Executive General Manager of Participation for AusCycling, Nicole brings a wealth of experience from various national participation roles within Cricket Australia and Cycling Australia.
Nicole’s impressive sporting background also includes significant contributions in High Performance roles. She began her journey as a pathways coach at the Victorian Institute of Gymnastics and later assumed the roles of High Performance Manager Diving at the Victorian Institute of Sport and High Performance Manager Golf at the Australian Institute of Sport.
Outside of the sports realm, Nicole spent 8 years in the private health insurance sector, where she held roles such as Head of Strategy, Diversified Businesses, National Program Manager for Health and Wellbeing, and Senior Corporate Development Manager at Medibank Private. She also worked for the International Management Group (IMG), a prominent athlete and entertainment representative agency, as a Senior Client Manager.
Nicole Adamson’s tenure with Table Tennis Australia is set to commence on 2nd October. Graham Symons, the President of Table Tennis Australia, expressed excitement about Nicole’s appointment, highlighting her diverse career background in sports administration, commercialization, and health promotion. He praised her reputation as a resourceful and highly competent sports administrator, a great team leader, and a person of high integrity.
In response to her appointment, Nicole Adamson expressed her honor and enthusiasm to lead Table Tennis Australia into its next phase of development. She acknowledged table tennis as an inclusive sport that appeals to a broad range of the community, emphasizing its potential to be a sport for everyone. Nicole recognized the sport’s history of strong performances in both para and able-bodied competitions and looks forward to collaborating with the table tennis community to strengthen the sport and achieve great outcomes.
