The Confederation of Australian Sport (CAS) is thrilled to announce the countersigning of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the host cities of the World Masters Games 2025, Taipei and New Taipei City. This agreement marks a significant step in fostering collaboration between Taiwan and Australia, aimed at promoting both the 2025 and 2029 editions of this prestigious event.
Rob Bradley, CEO of CAS, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “The World Masters Games Perth 2029 is delighted to countersign the historic Memorandum of Understanding with the World Masters Games 2025 host Taipei and New Taipei City.” This collaboration highlights the shared commitment to creating a vibrant multi-sport atmosphere for competitors of all ages.
The World Masters Games is recognized as the largest multi-sport event globally, with an anticipated participation of over 30,000 athletes competing across 40 sports. The 2025 Games in Taiwan, scheduled from May 15 to May 30, will set the stage for the subsequent Games in Perth in 2029.
CAS and UniSport Australia secured the bid to host the World Masters Games in Perth in late 2023, with significant support from the Western Australian Government and the Federal Government. This collective effort underscores the importance of sports and community engagement in both nations.
Bradley further emphasized the potential for Australian competitors, saying, “The 2025 WMG Taipei and New Taipei City program looks excellent, and we hope it will be well attended by Australian masters competitors.”
