National Indigenous Sports Summit (NISS)

The 2024 National Indigenous Sports Summit (NISS) will bring together some of the most influential figures in Indigenous sport to discuss critical issues and propose solutions that will shape the future of First Nations participation in Australian sport.

Led by Olympian Patrick Johnson, this year’s summit is themed “Enough is Enough!” and aims to address the systemic barriers that First Nations people continue to face in the world of sport. The event will feature an impressive list of speakers, including Olympian and Australian sprint legend Patrick Johnson, NRL Hall of Famer Katrina Fanning, former professional sports stars Leon Davis, Dean Widders, Paul Vandenbergh with tireless workers for First Nations sport Belinda Duarte, Linda Bamblett, Paul Briggs, Uncle Benny Mills, Gary Murray, Rob Hyatt and more.

National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Sports Awards

This Saturday, the National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Sports Awards will shine a spotlight on the extraordinary contributions of Indigenous athletes to Australian sport. Held at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, this prestigious event will celebrate the achievements of both current and past Indigenous sportspeople, as well as the community programs and volunteers that make a significant impact on the lives of First Nations athletes.
