Premium Gold Coast martial arts retailer Fight HQ and Australian Taekwondo have joined forces to revamp national events and expand Taekwondo across the country. The collaboration, worth over $250k, makes Fight HQ the official retail partner of Australian Taekwondo, and they will supply the KPNP Protection Scoring System (PSS) and technical support for all national events and competitions for the next two years.
Heather Garriock, the Chief Executive Officer for Australian Taekwondo, expressed her excitement over the partnership and stated that it was another positive step for the organization, highlighting the strength of Taekwondo in Australia. The partnership reflects Australian Taekwondo’s strategic direction to modernize, professionalize, and commercialize Taekwondo in Australia.
“Partnering with a brand and business like Fight HQ is another positive step for us and shows the strength of Taekwondo in Australia. We are beyond excited to welcome a dynamic and progressive brand like Fight HQ to our growing family of partners,” said Heather Garriock, Chief Executive Officer for Australian Taekwondo.
“Our strategic direction is to modernise, professionalise and commercialise Taekwondo in Australia. To achieve this, we must align with brands that share this vision and can support us on this journey.”
Over the last two years, Australian Taekwondo has worked to develop long-term strategic partnerships with local governments and sponsors who align with the association’s core values and strategic direction.
Nick Atkins, the founder of Fight HQ, expressed his enthusiasm to partner with Taekwondo’s national body and stated that his company’s business model and values align with what Australian Taekwondo seeks to achieve to transform the standard and culture of their events.
“We want to see the KPNP PSS develop throughout Australia, and we want to support and partner with the Australian Taekwondo community, from local club level to international events,”
“We’re passionate about aligning with combat sports that match our core values and beliefs; our aim is to contribute to building and adding value to the martial arts industry in any way we can,”
The partnership will enable Australian Taekwondo members to connect and shop directly with Fight HQ from the Australian Taekwondo website. Fight HQ will also have a support and retail presence at all Australian Taekwondo events in the future. This collaboration is expected to benefit athletes, coaches, clubs, and members and grow Taekwondo nationwide.
