The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) proudly announces Kate Jenkins AO as its new Chair, succeeding Josephine Sukkar AM. With a remarkable career spanning three decades, Jenkins brings extensive expertise in advocating for respect and equality to her new role.

As former Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commissioner, Jenkins has driven cultural change across various sectors. Her deep ties to sports include roles as Chair of Play by the Rules and board member of the Carlton Football Club.

Jenkins envisions a sports landscape that’s safe, fair, accessible, and inclusive for all athletes. ASC CEO Kieren Perkins OAM warmly welcomes her appointment, citing her distinguished leadership and track record of effecting systemic change.

Joining Jenkins are Dr. Bridie Kean PLY, a dual Paralympic medallist, and Nicholas Green OAM, a dual Olympic gold medallist. Their diverse backgrounds enrich the Commission’s capabilities.
