After three years at the helm of Badminton Australia (BA), Chief Executive Officer Jamie Parsons has announced his resignation from the role.
“It’s been a privilege to have worked and served the sport of badminton in Australia,” said Parsons.
The BA Board has accepted Parson’s resignation, and acknowledges his contribution over his three years as CEO.
During his tenure, Jamie has made an incredible contribution to Badminton in Australia, with some of his key achievements including:
– The development of a new strategic plan for badminton
– The development a new brand for badminton (receiving an international award)
– Overseen the development of our new high-performance system
– Managed the development a new participation plan, under his watch
– Achieved over $1 million in additional government funding
– Oversaw the development of a new event framework and developed an outstanding staff team.
Jamie has also strengthened relationships with stakeholders and built strong relationships with the State members and BA Board, while overseeing a strengthening of BA’s financial position, setting up Badminton for the future, implementing a new integrity framework for badminton and more.
Jamie is taking on a more senior position at another major sporting organisation and will finish with Badminton Australia as CEO in early February.
We wish Jamie all the best for his new role. The Board will now commence a recruitment process for a new CEO.
