We invite you to help us make a real difference to sport in Australia as a Board Director of the Confederation of Australian Sport. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced individuals who are passionate about the future direction of Australian sport.
The Confederation of Australian Sport is an independent, not-for-profit industry voice committed to promoting the contribution of community sport and representing the interests of those organisations and peak bodies involved in community based sport and active recreation. With a heritage and the DNA of Australia’s National Sporting Organisations (NSO’s) and driven by the mantra of ‘Sport for All’ the Confederation of Australian Sport (CAS) has been a committed advocate for Australian sport since 1976.
CAS believes sport makes a hugely important health, social and economic contribution to our nation and strongly advocates for greater recognition, support and resources.
In addition to the many elements of ongoing advocacy of Sport at the federal and state levels CAS has the following initiatives underway:
- Confirming the hosting of the World Masters Games – Perth – 2029
- Charitable Status for Sport – continuing the work to secure the benefits of charitable status for sport
- Securing greater recognition, support and resources for Coaching and Officiating
- Providing advocacy for Indigenous sport through support of the National Indigenous Sport Foundation
It is envisaged that successful applicants will have experience in a senior management role within sport, preferably at NSO CEO or chairman level.
Successful candidates will be appointed for an initial two-year term and we believe that you will find the role personally and professionally rewarding.
The time commitment asked of CAS Directors is not onerous with the majority of communication being conducted by email and zoom.
