Equestrian Australia is excited to announce the appointment of Darren Gocher as CEO, effective immediately.

As one of the nation’s leading sports administrators, Darren’s arrival marks an exciting step in the process of rebuilding equestrian for a stronger and sustainable future.

Darren, who takes the reins effective from Monday 31 May 2021, joins us from Athletics Australia where he oversaw a series of major initiatives including the creation of the ‘Nitro Athletics’ concept, and laying the groundwork for the sport’s unification across juniors and seniors. Before that, he held senior management roles with News Corp, KPMG and Yahoo.

Equestrian Australia Chair Mark Bradley said Mr Gocher’s appointment was a “significant coup” for the sport.

“Our members want change, and Darren’s track record of delivering game-changing reforms and building stronger organisations makes him the right person for this time.”
